Onawa Secondary School has come a long way since its inception on 19th February 2013. What began as a modest academic journey has now blossomed into a recognised Centre of Excellence, firmly rooted in our unwavering mantra: "An excellent culture is never compromised." This principle guides every decision we make and every standard we uphold.

Over the years, our school population has grown tremendously, a testament to the trust and confidence our community places in us. Today, we are proud to accommodate 1,043 learners, supported by a dedicated staff complement of 72,comprising teaching staff, hostel personnel, and other support staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of our institution. This growth has not only expanded our family but also enriched our diversity and strengthened our resolve to deliver quality education.

While we are predominantly known as a science school, we take great pride in offering a well-rounded and holistic curriculum. We provide a full suite of Commerce subjects, alongside robust Pre-vocational and Technical offerings, including Design and Technology, Metal Work and Welding, Technical Studies B, Fashion and Fabrics, and Hospitality. In addition, our Creative Arts department thrives with Arts and Design, Integrated Performing Arts, and Visual Arts, ensuring that every learner finds a path that ignites their passion and hones their talents.
